Charles "Chuck" Kevin Tyler, age 80, of Grand Haven, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at home. He was born on March 22, 1945, in Queens, NY, to the late Charles and Elizabeth "Betty" (Walther) Tyler. Chuck married Peggy (Bailey) Lambert on September 12, 1997, in Virginia.
Chuck graduated from Harborfields High School and then received a bachelor's degree from Villanova University in 1967, where he was captain of the Villanova Lacrosse team. In 1974, he graduated from Georgetown University Law School where he received his Juris Doctor (JD) degree and served on the Georgetown Law Journal.
Chuck spent his 30-year legal career with the General Counsel's office of the Office of the Architect of the Capitol in Washington D.C., where he served as General Counsel the last eight years before retiring in 2004. While there, he provided legal and policy advice to Presidential Appointees, members and staff of Congress, and senior agency officials.
Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family, golf, reading, road trips, a good steak, collecting antique clocks and fountain pens, and was an avid follower of politics and legislative policy.
Chuck will be forever remembered and missed by his beloved wife of 28 years, Peggy; two sons, Eli Lambert (Lindsey Bartholomew) and Josh Lambert; two grandsons, Lukas and Miles Lambert; sister, Sue (Rick) Iber; brother, Doug (Shelli) Tyler; siblings-in-law: Rayelle Tyler, William (Faith) Bailey, Lucinda (Terry) Burton, Peter Bailey, Dan (Debi) Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Brian Tyler.
A Celebration of Chuck's life will be held at a later date to be announced.
