Charles “Chuck” Edward Frankhouse, age 85, of Robinson Township, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Harbor Hospice-Poppen House Residence. He was born on May 14, 1939, in Erie, MI, to the late John and Clara (Pierson) Frankhouse. Chuck married Shirley Potter on February 10, 1962, in Grand Haven.
Chuck proudly served his country in the US Army from 1956 to 1960. He worked as a boilermaker for 169 Boilermakers in Dearborn, MI his whole career until his retirement.
Chuck was a former member of the Championship LeClere Rifle Team which represented to United States in the NATO matches with six other nations and was awarded marksmanship for his shooting accuracy. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping. Chuck also loved hanging out with family and friends, playing Euchre, and watching the Detroit Tigers Baseball.
Chuck will be forever remembered and missed by his beloved wife of 62 years, Shirley; and their two sons, Gary Frankhouse and Craig (Sheri) Frankhouse; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; his brother, Michael (Ruth) Frankhouse; and sister-in-law, Frances Lannin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Millie (Ralph) Cornish, Betty (Ned) Galloway, Geraldine (Pat) Kennedy, and Maggie Mushing; brothers: Ray (Ida), John, Orley, Ken (Sandy), and Donald (Bev) Frankhouse; and in-laws, Phyllis Benes and Floyd Potter.
Private family services will be held. A Celebration of Life for family and friends to attend will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Knights of Columbus, Grand Haven, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
