Carrie Elizabeth Baumgarner, age 81 of Grand Haven, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at home. She was born on June 14, 1939 in Middlebury, Indiana to the late William and Laura (Kaufman) Miller. She married Kenneth Baumgarner on March 21, 1959 in Grand Haven.
Carrie was a long time resident of Grand Haven and worked for Heyboer Transformers Inc. for 53 years before her retirement. She was a Detroit Lions and Tigers fan, and also enjoyed watching Notre Dame Football. Carrie was a great cook who loved taking care of her family. She loved making fudge for her son’s co-workers at the post office and she would always leave fudge in her mailbox for the carriers. She also enjoyed doing puzzles and taking trips to the casino.
Carrie will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband of 61 years, Kenneth; her daughter, Patricia (Steve) Meinel; son, Kenneth (Kris) Baumgarner; six grandchildren, Linda (Ryan) Dobberstein, Ashley (Greg) Diehl, Christine (Trevor) Curtis, Kari (Jacob) Warvel, Ian Baumgarner (Melissa Cline), Noah Baumgarner; two great-grandchildren, Lily Dobberstein, Braxton Warvel, ; sisters: Maxine (Don) Schmidt, Mary Ellen White, Ruth Williams, and Sarah Childers; brother, Earl (Lucille) Miller; sisters-in-law, Janice Miller, Jean Smith, Marion Baumgarner; brother-in-law, Mack Baumgarner; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Miller.
The Graveside Service for Carrie will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery with Pastor Scott Miller officiating.
