Carolyn Emily (Trinker) Brown

Carolyn E. Brown, age 89, of Hastings, MI, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in Hastings. She was born on November 9, 1935, in Grand Haven, MI, to Cletus and Hazel (Kline) Trinker. Carolyn married Henry Brown on January 11, 1952, in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2015.

Carolyn graduated from Grand Haven High School and later took a course at Grand Rapids Junior College for dietary management. She worked as Supervisor of the Dietary Department and Cook at North Ottawa Community Hospital for several years. Carolyn also worked as a home health aide taking care of the elderly in their home.

Carolyn loved her family and enjoyed spending time with all of them. She also enjoyed traveling and crocheting, making several items for the new grandbabies and special occasions.

Carolyn is survived by seven children: Deb (Mike) Dirkse, Karron Twa, Michael Brown, Gayle (Bob) Winchell, Judy (Dave) Morden, Mitchell (Wendy) Brown, and Adam Brown; 17 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cletus and Hazel Trinker; husband, Henry; son, Bryon; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Doris Trinker; and sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Ray Noell.

A private family graveside service will be held at Grand Haven Township Historic Cemetery.
