Caroline Chittenden, age 80, of Grand Haven, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at a local care facility. She was born on April 5, 1945, in Holland, MI, to the late Arthur and Angeline (TenBrink) Eding.
Caroline attended West Ottawa High School and was a lifelong resident of Grand Haven. She embraced the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mother for her three children while they were growing up. Caroline was known for being fiercely independent and she enjoyed gardening, horses, and interior decorating. Her family was of utmost importance and central to her life.
Caroline will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter, Lori (Phil) Doty; her son, Dane (Erin) Chittenden; as well as step-daughter, Angie Chittenden; five loved grandchildren: Mitchell and Ashley Streur (Kurt Larson), Rees, Gage, and Graci Chittenden; and her four sisters: Shirley (Bob) Scharphorn, Debra (Henry) Rouiller, Ruth Arens, and Helen (Al) Potter. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary Sniadecki; and two brothers, John and Arthur Eding, Jr.
A Memorial Visitation for Caroline will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
