Carole Diantha (Cole) Charneski

Carole Diantha Charneski, age 85 of Grand Haven, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at a local care facility. She was born on December 13, 1937, in Warren, MI to the late Lysle and Aner (Ely) Cole. Carole married Fred Charneski in 1953, and he preceded her in death on March 29, 1989.

Carole worked as a nurse’s aide and housekeeper for Bortz Health Care in Warren for 22 years. She attended St. Patrick - St. Anthony Catholic Parish for many years, and was a member at the Senior Care Center in Grand Haven. Carole was an animal lover who always lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed sky-diving, going for motorcycle rides, working out, and getting tattoos. She especially loved listening to rock music, with KISS and Alice Cooper being her favorite bands. Carole also loved to travel, and took many trips overseas to see the world.

Carole will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her four children: Sue (Mark) Johnston of Grand Haven, Cheryl (Joey) Bryant of Florida, Fred Charneski and David (Jenny) Charneski, all of Fowlerville, MI; eight beloved grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; and her sisters, Jane and Darlene.

The Memorial Service for Carole will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Christian Memorial Cultural Center Cemetery of Rochester Hills, MI.
