Carol Mae Robbins, age 85 of Grand Haven, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, at home with her children at her side. She was born on August 9, 1938, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late Eric and Elizabeth (Majerus) Seaberg. Carol met her future husband, Gerald “Jerry” Robbins, on a blind date and on March 10, 1962, they were married in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death in March of 1981.
Carol graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1956. While her children were at home, Carol babysat for several of the neighborhood children. After Jerry passed, she went to work outside the home, starting at Jonker Hardware where she worked for many years. She then worked for Menards, helping them set up their hardware department. Carol ended her years of employment at SAC Plastics working in quality control.
Carol loved to go camping with her family, knit, work on puzzles, and bowl in her Starlite Lanes bowling league. She also enjoyed taking bus trips to various locations with her girlfriends and walking the Mackinaw Bridge every September for the Annual Bridge Walk.
Carol will be lovingly remembered and missed by her two daughters, Natalie (Tim) Fritz and Sheila Robbins; and son, Brent (Nancy) Robbins; eight grandchildren: Blaine, Mitchell, Grace, Kendra, Tristan, Chesney, Katlyn, Everett; her brother, Peter Seaberg; daughter-in-law, Jane Robbins; in-laws, Lois Baldus and Lionel (Diana) Robbins; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins; and her loving companion of 12 years, Mel Peterson.
Private services will be held at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Rev. Lary Jackson officiating.
Interment will be at Spring Lake Township Cemetery.
