Carol Lee Douglas, age 91, of Grand Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2025. She was born on July 8, 1933, in Ovid, MI, to the late Irwin Smith and Nora "Dawn" (Tucker) DeGlopper.
Carol was the beloved wife of the late Edward F. Douglas, whom she married in 1958. They shared a loving marriage until his passing in 2010.
A kind, giving, and loving woman, Carol had a deep love for music, which she enjoyed sharing with others throughout her life. She also had a great appreciation for the beauty of nature and loved being outdoors. Carol took pride in providing a warm, welcoming home to family and friends, and her kindness and generosity made her a cherished presence in the lives of many.
Carol was also a devoted hospice volunteer, touching the lives of many with her compassion and selflessness. Her warmth, caring spirit, and love for life will always be remembered. She will be deeply missed by her family, her many friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Julie (David) Charles of Texas; her son, Jeffrey Douglas of Grand Haven; and her grandchildren, Cooper and McKinley Charles, also of Texas. She is also survived by several wonderful nieces and nephews who were dear to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her sister, Connie Missad; and most recently, her lifelong friend, Ethel Vozar Sell.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
