Carlton "Tony" Belden Blake, age 67 of Beverly Hills, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 31, 2022 after a brief illness. He was born on November 26, 1955 in Longview, Washington to Meade and Heloise (Husa) Blake.
Tony graduated from Lansing Everett High School. He used his excellent people skills and devoted work ethic to build a successful career in sales, marketing, and real estate. For many years, he managed the New York Carpet World stores in both Muskegon and Kalamazoo. Tony then became a consultant, sharing his knowledge of the sales world across many different business ventures. His most recent successes came as a salesman for ThermoSpa/Jacuzzi International, where he was consistently one of their top salespersons, nationally.
Tony’s work ethic could only be matched by his love of golf and dedication to friends and family. He loved to entertain, whether in Charlevoix, FL, or their previous home in Sparta, MI. Tony and his wife, Marie, were often found surrounded by friends, good food, and a view of the water. While living in Sparta, they were active members of Sparta Baptist Church.
Tony is survived by his sons, Shawn (Kim) Schrader and Anthony (Brianna) Blake; his daughter-in-law, Kristie Schrader; his nine grandchildren: Bekah and Katy Schrader, Deven, Hunter, Christian, and Lilyann Blake, and Max, Eli, and Vivian Schrader; siblings Tom, Jerry, Tracey, and Jon; sisters-in-law, Marie Savage and Shirley Daves; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances “Marie” Blake; and son, Eric Schrader.
The Celebration of Life for Tony will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Sparta Baptist Church, with Pastor Ben Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday, February 11th, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the church.
