Bruce David Rundquist, age 76 of Grand Haven, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Poppen House Residence. He was born on July 22, 1946 in Muskegon, MI to the late Swen and Lillian (Holm) Rundquist.
Bruce served his country in the US Army from 1965 to 1967, and then graduated from Muskegon High School, home of the “Big Reds,” Class of 1964.
He married Janice Spoelma on June 28, 1968 in Muskegon, and started his working career at Sappi Paper Mill, which he worked at for 39 years before his retirement.
Bruce was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Charles A. Conklin Post 28, and was a big fan of the Detroit Lions and U of M football teams. He was an avid fisherman who loved traveling, visiting places such as Sweden, England, and Hawaii.
Bruce was known as a “jack of all trades,” and he enjoyed tinkering with projects around the house, cooking and sampling food, and making beer and wine at home.
Bruce will be remembered and missed by his wife of 54 years, Janice; two daughters, Denise (Robert, Jr.) North and Debra (Ryan) Clevenger; his son, Jeff (Amy) Rundquist; his four grandchildren, Dan and Katie Clevenger, Robert North, III and Bruce North; sisters-in-law, Anita and Sally Rundquist; brother-in-law, Doug (Mary) Spoelma; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Christian Crum; and two brothers, Donald and Charles Rundquist.
A Memorial Visitation for Bruce will take place on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Viking Lodge, 3132 Lakeshore Dr., Muskegon. Full Military Honors will be performed by the American Legion, Charles A. Conklin Post #28.
