Barbara Siegel Obituary

Barbara Jean Siegel, age 67 of West Olive, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at home. She was born on September 28, 1952 in Grand Rapids, MI to Gerald and Jean (Vander Bee) Spaman. Barb married Steven Siegel on June 7, 1974, and they were married for 37 years before his passing on November 15, 2011.

Barb worked as a teacher for some years until she decided to raise a family of her own as a homemaker. She enjoyed camping, boating on Lake Michigan in the summer, and going on Motorcycle trips all over the U.S. with her husband. Barb was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association and enjoyed doing puzzles and playing board games, especially with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother who would do anything for her children and grandchildren and always cared about everyone in her life. Barb was an animal lover and cared greatly about their well-being. She will be missed by so many in her life.

Barb is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Brenda (Adam) Rowell of Allendale; son, Brian Siegel of Zeeland; four grandchildren: Zachery, Brittney, Kylee, and Levi; brother, Robert “Bob” (Carol) Spaman; mother-in-law, Ardith Siegel (Ken Koning); and brothers-in-law, Wendell (Karen) Siegel and Dennis (Tina) Siegel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven; and her parents.

The Graveside Service for Barbara will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Port Sheldon Township Cemetery, with Pastor John Koedyker officating.  A luncheon to follow at Barb's house nearby.
