Mrs. Barbara Best Lambourne

Barbara "Barb" Best Lambourne, age 71, of Grand Haven, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 13, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 23, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late William and Kathryn (Ballou) Best. On July 24, 1976, Barb married the love of her life, George Lambourne, and they enjoyed 42 years of marriage before his passing on November 12, 2018.

Barb graduated from Worthington High School in Ohio, Class of 1971. She then graduated with her bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University in 1975. Barb and George were longtime members of First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven, the Grand Haven Eagles Aerie #925, and the American Legion Post 28.

Barb loved getting together with friends and family and she especially enjoyed meeting her group of friends for breakfast, meeting with her book club, and going to the Tip-a-Few for their weekly burrito with George and their kids and grandkids. Barb loved to travel with George to Clearwater, Florida, on road trips out West, color tours in the Upper Peninsula, and discovering new places to eat.

Barb will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her two children, Jennifer (Jeff) Lynn of Ferrysburg and Scott Lambourne of Grand Haven; three grandchildren: Ava Lambourne and Josiah and Shiloh Lynn; sister, Luanne (Dave) Schrader; brother, Mark (Susan) Best; sister-in-law, Becky Steward; brother-in-law, Ken Lambourne; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, George, she was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Karen Lambourne.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Barb will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Porto Bello Grand Hall (upstairs), with Rev. Kristine Aragon Bruce officiating. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.
