Arthur "Art" Robert Brosseit, Jr., age 93, of Spring Lake, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025. He was born on August 5, 1931, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late Arthur R. Brosseit, Sr. and Wanda (Klempel). Art married Nancy Otzman on July 10, 1971. She preceded him in death on April 22, 2021.
Art enlisted in the US Air Force in 1951 during the Korean Conflict, and spent four years in service in the National Security Agency (NSA) in Washington D.C. Upon his return from the service to Grand Haven, he worked as the third generation in the painting contracting business, the Brosseit Home Decorating store.
Art enjoyed biking and hiking, and in the winter, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. He also enjoyed boating and kayaking while living on the Grand River. Art was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Spring Lake, and he joyfully drove the Church Bus and worked in the kitchen for the Awana program.
Art will be lovingly remembered and missed by his four children: Bruce Brosseit, Jon Brosseit, Steve Otzman, and Denise (Dave) Spencer; his six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Art was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his three sisters: Betty Bliss, Dorothy Kauffman, and Ruth Elloit; and his brother, Rev. Lawrence Brosseit.
The Funeral Service for Arthur will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at First Baptist Church- Spring Lake, with Pastor Alex Teesdale officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Spring Lake Township Cemetery.
