April Marie (Swinehart) Rodgers

April Marie Rodgers, age 52 of Robinson Township, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at North Ottawa Community Hospital. She was born on July 5, 1968 in Grand Haven, MI to Daniel Swinehart and Joann Russo. April married Rick Rodgers on July 5, 1989, on her 21st birthday, in Las Vegas, NV.

April graduated from Grand Haven High School, Class of 1987 and worked at the Driftwood Inn and Walmart in Grand Haven for several years. She loved celebrating the holidays, with Independence Day and Christmas being her favorite. April was an easy-going, people-person who loved fashion, shopping, socializing, and spending time with her kids and her family. She also really enjoyed boating, listening to music, and playing Skip-Bo and Yahtzee.

April is loved and missed by her husband of 31 years, Rick Rodgers; her two daughters, Allyson (Joseph) Redmon and Amanda Rodgers, all of Grand Haven/Robinson Township; her mother, Joann (Jim) Loman of Grand Haven; father-in-law, Boyce Rodgers of New Smyrna Beach, FL; sisters, Cassie Swinehart, Gina Hardin, Michelle DeJohn, Melody (Brian) DeJohn, and Leslie (Matt) Thompson; brother, Stephen Swinehart; brother-in-law, Wayne (Lisa) Rodgers; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Swinehart; step-father, Butch White; and mother-in-law, Carol Appel.

The Funeral Service for April will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Robinson Grace Church with Pastor Bill Russell officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 7th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Masks and Social Distancing will be required at all services. Interment will be at Robinson Township Cemetery.
