It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father, and brother, Anthony Thomas Costa, on Sunday, August 11, 2024. Tony was born on April 2, 1954, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Anthony and Kathryn (McCauley) Costa. In 1977, he married the love of his life, Michelle Boss. They made Fruitport, Michigan their home where they have lived for over 40 years. They raised three amazing children: Ashley (Derrick) Pelfresne, Rachel (Trad) Smith, and Cameron (Lauren) Costa.
Tony graduated from Fruitport High School in 1973. While in high school, he developed his love of football. He played for the Fruitport Trojans and in 2015 was inducted into the Fruitport Athletics Hall of Fame. He was an avid, loud, Dallas Cowboys fan. Tony loved hunting, especially his hunting trips with his dad, Tony and friends.
Tony enjoyed in his early days going to the gym and always looked up to Arnold Schwarzenegger, whom he met. His second love was his ’69 Chevelle. Tony took so much pride in his car going to local shows where he won many trophies that he was always so proud of.
Tony was a true family man. He loved being with Michelle and adored his children and grandchildren above all else. Tony had the craziest nicknames for all his loved ones.
Tony is survived by his wife, Michelle; daughters, Ashley (Derrick) Pelfresne and Rachel (Trad) Smith; son, Cameron (Lauren) Costa; grandchildren, Sophia Pelfresne and Theodore Costa; sisters: Kathy Dalo, Cindy (Steve) Kamp, and Nancy Meyers; brothers-in-law, Curt (Joy) Boss and Scott (Vivian) Boss; sister-in-law, Tracy (Mike) Gimborys; and several nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Kathryn Costa; mother-in-law, Pauline Boss; father-in-law, Clarence Boss; brother-in-law, Dan (Marla) Boss; and nephew, Danny Boss, Jr.
