Anne Elizabeth (Dixon) Shannon, 40, formerly of Grand Haven, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 after a long battle with substance abuse. She was born on July 29, 1980 to LeeAnne & Dr. Robert Dixon, Jr., in Grand Rapids, MI.
She graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1998 and then Baker College as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Anne could fill any room with joy and laughter. She loved animals, the outdoors, sports and reading. Anne would do absolutely anything to help those she cared about. She was excellent at nearly everything she tried. She was both tough and incredibly sweet. Her spirit was extraordinary and will continue on in all those she touched.
Anne is survived by the two children that she loved and adopted to amazing families, William & Juniper; her parents, LeeAnne & Bob (Debbie) Dixon; her siblings, Katie (Eric) Golicz & Rob (Marin) Dixon; her significant other, Chad Huizenga; and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Shannon on March 10, 2012; her grandparents, and numerous pets she loved dearly.
A Celebration of Life for will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Pottawatomie Park. The family asks all who attend to please observe proper safety protocols.
