Amanda Cooper Obituary
Amanda Ruth Cooper, age 88 of Spring Lake, became an angel on Thursday, December 23, 2021. She was born April 17, 1933 in Spring Lake, MI, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Peterka) Jeske. On May 25, 1951 she was united in marriage to James L. Cooper, who preceded her in death on May 16, 2004. On August 13, 2005 she was united in marriage to Richard G. Kohnke, who preceded her in death on July 16, 2018.
She was a lifelong resident of Spring Lake whose hobbies were gardening, sewing, playing cards, bird-watching and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Gary (Jennifer) Cooper, Carol Prag, Ruth (Michael) Frein, Wilma (Peter) Jozsa; her daughter-in-law, Elaine Cooper; step-children, Anna (Bill) Smith, Wayne Kohnke, Larry (Faith) Kohnke, Les Kohnke, Dale (Christine) Kohnke, and Paul (John) Kohnke; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Nell (Richard) Vanholstyn, Lillian (David) Barbier, Kathryn Senory, and James Jeske; and many nieces and nephews.
Amanda was preceded in death by her parents; her son, David Cooper; and siblings, Robert Jeske, Louis Jeske, Marie Jeske, and Patrick Jeske.
The Funeral Service for Amanda will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Bytwerk officiating. Friends are invited to meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
A Private Interment will be held at Spring Lake Township Cemetery.
