Allen Lavern Peasley, age 74, of Fruitport, MI, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. Al was born on May 23, 1950, to Earl and Lois (Ulberg) Peasley.
Al spent his early years with his family in a small house in Hudsonville, built by his dad. They later moved to a large farm in Dorr, Michigan, where he grew up with his brother, Randy Peasley. He spent much of his time working on the farm, riding his horse, Rusty, riding motorcycles, and getting into lots of trouble. From the day he was born, till the day he died, Al lived his life to the fullest. His motto in life was “live simply, appreciate what you have, and trust God for the rest.” He did that to a “T” every day of his life.
Al married Sue Inwood on September 1, 1972, in Hudsonville, MI, when he was 22 and she was 18. Over the next 51 years together, they lived in Dorr, MI, Mansfield, OH, and finally settled into their home in Fruitport, MI, where they spent the past 40 years of their lives together.
Al had a passion for animals, specifically his horses, dogs, and even chickens. He enjoyed spending time in nature and riding his motorcycle for as long as he could. Al loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren with all his heart.
Al would always say you needed to live life so that when you come into this world, you are crying, and the people around you are happy, and when you leave this world, the people around you are crying, but you are happy. He did that. He was loved by all who knew him. His words of wisdom and caring personality will be missed by all.
Al is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sue Peasley; his four children: Gary (Emily) Peasley, Scott (Lindsay) Peasley, Michael (Lindsey) Peasley, and Samantha (Nick) Richards; 10 grandchildren: Laney, Allie, Charlie, Ty, Rylley, Lawson, Payton, Blayke, Caplin, and Caroline; his brother, Randy (Thuy) Peasley; and many siblings-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and several siblings-in-law.
The Memorial Service for Al will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Spring Lake, with Pastor Doug Bytwerk officiating. Desserts and coffee to follow. They would like all who knew him and loved him to come join them and remembering a great and kind man.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
