Albert "Al" Henry DeHaan

Albert "Al" Henry DeHaan, age 85, of Ferrysburg, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at home. He was born on August 14, 1940, in Muskegon, MI, to the late Albert and Gertrude (Tysman) DeHaan, Sr. Al married Patricia "Patt" Ellen Jordan on June 21, 1960, in Grand Haven. She preceded him in death on November 30, 2020, after 60 years of marriage

Al graduated from high school and went on to proudly serve his country in the US Navy and then worked as a custodian for Grand Haven Area Public Schools at Mary A. White Elementary School for many years until his retirement.

Al enjoyed traveling the United States and overseas to the Caribbean, Mexico, Germany, and other parts of Europe. He also enjoyed antiquing, Detroit Tigers baseball, Detroit Lions football, and Detroit Redwings hockey.

Al will be forever remembered and missed by his daughter, Melissa DeHaan of Ferrysburg; his son, Michael (Samantha) DeHaan of Longmont CO; step-grandchildren: Reese, Michael, Mitchell, and Stephanie; his brother, Dan (Sue) DeHaan of Fruitport; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Mark) Ritter of Ferrysburg, Betsy (David) Fullagar of CA, Merrily (Don) Groeneveld of Ferrysburg, and Kelcey Jordan of Fruitport; and brother-in-law, Albert (Mary) Jordan of Kalkaska, MI.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; brother, Doug DeHaan; sisters-in-law, Julie Helmers and Joy Benkert; and brother-in-law, Randy Jordan.

Private family services will be held.
