Adam William Youngman, Jr., age 83, of Grand Haven, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026. He was born on August 22, 1942, in Battle Creek, MI to the late Adam and Evva (Osborn) Youngman, Sr. Adam married Joann Elizabeth Sponsler on August 31, 1963, in Bronson, MI.
Adam graduated from Lakeview High School in Battle Creek and then went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Coast Guard. During his time in the service, Adam marched in the JFK Inaugural Parade, served on the ships Unimak and Acacia, and was on the search and rescue team for the sunken ship, SS Daniel J. Morrell, in Lake Superior in November of 1966.
Adam went on to work for a Veterans Hospital and then spent 32 years working as a mail carrier for the Battle Creek Post Office from 1966 to 1998 and received the "Carrier of the Year" award for his accomplishments. Following his retirement, he spent nine years traveling the country with his wife, Joann in their RV, which they enjoyed greatly.
Adam will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his beloved wife of 61 years, Joann; his daughter, Dr. Dana Kraker; his son-in-law, Dennis Wilkins; and his four grandchildren: Daniel Wilkins, Dillon Wilkins, Cassidy Kraker, and Garrett Kraker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Danette Wilkins; and sister, Patricia Lampman.
A Graveside Service for Adam will be held at Newton Township Cemetery, date to be announced.
