William "Bill" A. Tiles

William "Bill" A. Tiles, age 89 of Grand Haven, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at home surrounded by family. He was born November 7, 1929 in Grand Haven toStefan and Kate (Drinko) Tiles. Bill married Leone Heerspink in 1959. 

Bill served his country in the United States Marine Corps. and upon his return to Grand Haven, purchased and operated the gas station at the corner of US-31 and M-45. He also worked at Prince Bridge and Marine as a bridge builder and truck driver for many years, but spent his career farming, and was the founder and owner of Tiles Blueberry Farms.  Bill was an outdoors kind of man who also enjoyed traveling with Leone over the years.

Bill is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Leone; and his five sons; William, Ronald (Joyce), Craig (Sandy), Kenneth (Jeanine), and Terry Tiles all of the Grand Haven area; eleven grandchildren; sister, Betty (Robert) Reenders; and brother, Albert Tiles.  He was preceded in death by sisters, Elsie Sorensen and Anna Berg; and brothers: Frank, John, Walter, and Henry Tiles.

The Celebration of Life  will be  from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Tile's Residence: 13030 Lincoln St., Grand Haven, MI 49417. Interment took place at Olive Township Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland or the American Cancer Society.
