Ruth Ann (Cowan) Bull

Ruth Ann Bull, age 60 of West Olive, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Port Sheldon as a result of an automobile accident. She was born on November 5, 1957 to Bobby and Margaret (Buchanan) Cowan in Murfreesboro, TN. Ruth graduated from Spring Lake High School and married Thomas G. Bull on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1976.  He preceded her in death on February 21, 2009 after 33 years of marriage.

Ruth was a homemaker first and foremost, but later in life worked for Walmart in the deli, and then went to work for Shape Corp., where she was currently employed. Ruth loved life and her family, and especially loved spending time with her five grandchildren. People who knew her would say she was very patient, kind, and extremely handy. She enjoyed crafting, tending to her flower and water gardens, traveling, reading, and DIY projects. Ruth also had a love for animals, especially her three Chihuahuas; Zoe, Zeke, and Jorge.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Regena Bull and Rebecca (Matt) Timmer; son, Walter Bull all of Grand Haven; grandchildren, Hailey, Abigail, Ava, Alex, and Weston; brothers, David (Cyndie) Cowan of Grand Haven, Robert (DeLinda) Cowan of Boyd, TX; and four nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; brother, Gene Cowan; daughter-in-law, Megan Bull; and niece, Kelly Barber.

The Celebration of Life for Ruth will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home, with Rev. Dan Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Humane Society.
