Rosella May Nadort, age 87, fell into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, at Heartwood Lodge on April 22, 2019.
She married Arnold Nadort on February 15, 1957 and after many happy years of marriage he preceded her in death on December 6, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her special friend Robert (Bob) Holzinger and her sisters Marion and Jerry.
Rose is survived by her sister Ethel and her children Steven (Norma) Nadort, Mike Nadort (Sandy Kincaid), Bunny (Alan) Brown, and extended children Barb (Rick) Johnson, Bob (Robin) Holzinger, Becky (Doug) Rasche, Hilda (Jim) Albright. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Thomas Nadort, Sarah (Dan) Wagenmaker, Nicholas (Tiffany) Brown and extended grandchildren Audrey Hoebeke, Jennifer Cisneros, Peter Holzinger, John Holzinger, Aubrey (Eric) Johnson, Chelsea (Oleg) Budzinsky, Heather Semkiw (Brandon Alexander), Micaela (Tim) Nowakowski, Zach (Jen) Albright, Katie (Ryan) Broekhoff.
She truly blessed the lives of her great-grandchildren, Elijah, Grace, Isaac, Lucy, and James Wagenmaker and Marcella, John-Paul, Maria, Simon, Teresa, and Pearl Brown.
Rose devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, supporting them and loving them. Some of her favorite times were spent with Al and Bunny’s family on the patio watching all the great-grandchildren play together and enjoying a great barbecue.
In her younger years, Rose and Arnie loved dancing at the American Legion and traveling with dear friends, Chuck and Norma Townsend. Rose was an avid reader who especially enjoyed mysteries and word-search puzzles. She was talented with needlework and loved to craft intricate cross-stitch portraits of her great-grandchildren.
Rose was an active member at Saint John’s Lutheran Church. She served on the Ladies’ Aid and enjoyed the women’s Bible studies until health issues slowed her down.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Christian Haven Home for the love and compassion they showed to Rose for the short time she resided there. They would also like to express their gratitude to the staff at Heartwood Lodge for their help to Rose and her family as she transitioned from this life into Heaven where we will all be together “in the twinkling of an eye” 1 Corinthians 15:51-57.
A Memorial Service to honor Rose’s life will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 2:00 PM At St. John’s Lutheran Church 527 Taylor Ave Grand Haven MI., with Pastor Kurt Wenzelburger officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers please consider American Cancer Society, Christian Haven Home, or Hospice of North Ottawa.
