Robert L. "Bob" Richardson

Robert L. “Bob” Richardson, age 83, of Grand Haven passed away September 11, 2017 at a local nursing home. He was born May 20, 1934 in Saginaw, MI to the late Frank & Ortelle (Knight) Richardson. Bob married Shirley Constantine on August 25, 1956 in Nunica. He proudly served his country in the Army Reserves in 1963. Bob was employed for 27 years with Challenge Stamping & Porcelain Co. and held many different positions including personnel. He then worked for Bayer Co. (now Prince Corp.) in sales & service and, after retiring in 1998, he continued to work as a consultant. Bob was an active member of All Shores Wesleyan Church. He served on the advisory board for Once & Again Resale Store owned by Grand Haven Christian School, having a passion for the store’s purpose to lower tuition for the children. Bob loved to play softball, basketball, enjoyed watching sports on TV and fishing in Canada. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Shirley; his son, Robert F. Richardson PHD of Indianapolis, IN; sisters, Barbara Whitaker of Murrieta, CA & Jan Hale of Grandville, MI and in-laws, Kenneth (Mary) Constantine & Madlyn Constantine. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gail Curtis, Lorraine Hass & brother, James Richardson. The Funeral Service for Bob will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 at All Shores Wesleyan Church with Pastor Ralph Baynum officiating. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to Once & Again for Grand Haven Christian Schools.
