Pauline June Bowman, age 94 of Grand Haven, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Grand Pines Assisted Living. She was born on March 23, 1924 in Muskegon, MI to the late Archie and Margie (Tjapkes) Sutton. Pauline married Richard Bowman on January 1, 1942 in Muskegon, and he preceded her in death on June 12, 1999 after 57 years of marriage.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, where she served as a Funeral Luncheon Coordinator for 14 years. Pauline was an avid reader, and also enjoyed gardening, volunteering at the church, walking her dog, Duchess, bowling, roller skate dancing, taking ceramic classes, traveling, and riding bikes with her husband in their younger years.
Pauline will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her two daughters, Karen (John) Erickson of Grand Rapids and Janis (Brett) Minges of Kalamazoo; granddaughter, Dori Schindlbeck; grandson, Derek Erickson; great-grandchildren, Drake Erickson, and Maggie, Mollie, and Maizie Holmes. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eleanor Joslin and Emajean (Norm) Beachum; brothers, William and John Sutton; and grandson, Jeremy Schindlbeck in 2005.
The Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2018 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ with Pastor Matt Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 25th from 1 to 4 p.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ “Raise the Roof” Fund or Hospice of North Ottawa Community would be appreciated.
