Patricia Sanders, age 89 of Spring Lake, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019. She was born on February 24, 1930 in Logansport, IN to the late Zorah and Geraldine (Hartwick) Baker. Patricia married James W. Sanders on March 2, 1953 in Indiana, and they had three daughters. He passed away May 13, 1981.
Patricia graduated from Logansport High School and then attended Indiana University. Many years later, she went back to school at Muskegon Community College and graduated with her LPN nursing degree. Patricia worked for many years as a nurse in home health care. She was a member of St. Patrick’s/St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she was very active with the Adoration Group. Patricia was an avid bridge player, worldwide traveler, a volunteer for 45 years at NOCH, but most of all, loved being with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her dedicated family; daughters, Nancy (Peter) Baar of Big Rapids and Susan (Jerry) De Frell of West Olive; son-in-law, David Hanson of Spring Lake; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Michael (Kay) Baker and James Baker; and in-laws, Carl (Karen) Naber. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julia Hanson; and grandson, James Hanson.
According to Patricia’s wishes, a private family service will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport, Indiana.
