Maud Shepherd, age 92, of Grand Haven went to be with her Lord on May 8, 2018 at Mercy Hospital. She was born February 13, 1926 in Vest, Kentucky to the late Isom and Roxie Ritchie. Maud married Jack Shepherd in July of 1942 in Hazard, Kentucky. He passed away in December of 1998. She has lived in Grand Haven area most of her life. Maud was a member of the Grand Haven Church of God and prior to that a member of Oakcrest Church of God in Muskegon. She loved to sing, read the Bible, and loved to cook for her family.
Maud is survived by her loving family: daughters, Jacqueline Baker of Grand Haven, Aileen Ellis of Enumclaw, WA., Claudette Bronson of Montague, Patricia Freeman of Big Rapids; sons, William (Brenda) Shepherd of Buford, GA., Julian (Diane) Shepherd of Muskegon, Rev. Jerry (Darla) Shepherd of Vero Beach, FL., and Roy Shepherd of Coopersville. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and brother, James (Naomi) Ritchie of Springfield, OH.
The Funeral Service for Maud will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with her son, Pastor Jerry Shepherd and Pastor Ron Finger officiating. Friends may meet the family from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Enon, OH. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Church of God Food Drive.
