Mary (Liz) Elizabeth (Burroughs) Brimmer

Mary Elizabeth Brimmer, age 71 of Muskegon, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at home. She was born on March 20, 1947 to the late Clinton A. and Helen (Mayberry) Burroughs in Pentwater.

Mary had been employed by Michigan Freezer Pack and New Era Canning Co.  She also worked at Oceana Medical Care Facility for some time. She enjoyed finding bargains at garage sales in the area, knitting, crocheting, and tending to her fruit and flower gardens. Mary was a great cook, and could sometimes be heard singing while cooking.  She loved to fish off the piers, with her long-time partner, Chuck. Mary also liked frogs and enjoyed watching for owls.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter, Cristine (Antonio) Perez of Ludington; three sons: John (Mary) Brimmer of Grand Haven, Gary (Debra) Brimmer of San Antonio, TX, Thomas (Holly) Brimmer of Hart, MI; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rhonda Burroughs of the Upper Peninsula; sisters, Judy Lauber of Pentwater and Doni Pierce of Muskegon; and her long-time partner, Charles Stevens of Muskegon. Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Rex and Chet Burroughs.

A graveside service will take place at Pentwater Township Cemetery on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Liz Brimmer Funeral Fund, C/O Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
