Marilyn Claire Wirick, age 88 of Spring Lake, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Grand Pines Assisted Living Center. Marilyn was born on November 18, 1929 in New Rochelle, NY to Austin and Vera (Colbeck) Fleming. After high school, she moved to Michigan to attend MSU, where she met and married her husband, Sherman Wirick. They had a wonderful life together for 63 years until his passing in 2014.
Marilyn was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven, former member of the Spring lake Country Club, and volunteered for many years as a “Pink Lady” with NOCH. She enjoyed tennis and golf, and relished playing games and cards with family and friends. She loved spending winters in Ft. Myers, FL, especially when orchestrating family trips to Disney World; one of her favorite destinations. Marilyn looked forward to Friday night burgers at the American Legion Post 28. Her greatest joy and biggest blessings were her four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren
Marilyn is survived by her two daughters, Sherill (Steve) Kosanic and Pam (Tim) Bullerdick; grandchildren, Ryan (Alyssa) Kosanic, Brianne (Mark) Palmiter, Brooke Kosanic (Kristine Vidojevski), and Jordan (Jon) Zubrickas; great-grandchildren, Jadyn and Payton Kosanic, Jackson and Sean Palmiter, and Owen and Luke Zubrickas.
The Memorial Service for Marilyn will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, October 5, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
