Makay James VanOort

Makay James VanOort, age 17, left us Saturday, March 17, 2018 after fighting the most fierce battle. He handled his illness like everything else in his life, full throttle, fearless and extreme. Anyone who knows Makay knows he also has the biggest heart; kind, gentle, and so loving. His greatest loves are family, hockey, and his best friend and girlfriend, Cloey. Eric and Autumn Ames and Gary VanOort had the opportunity to raise one of the gentlest souls. Our lives will never be the same for having loving you and losing you. His siblings that love and adore him, TJ (Brandy) Veach, Harlee Veach, Kali Ames, Kohler Ames, Bear VanOort, Riley Ames, Skye Ames, and Maleah Ames. Makay’s true love and soulmate Cloey Scott, who brought so much happiness to him. His grandparents, Larry and Glendora Green, Dean and Laura Ackman who he brought so much joy to. Mackay’s nieces and nephews who will miss his crazy shenanigans, Bentley, Brycin, Chevelle, Byrin, and Khaleesi “Baby Kay,” and many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Makay will be welcomed in heaven by his brother, Davis Paul, grandparents Gary and Joanne VanOort, and Grandma Linda. The Funeral Service for Makay will be 11:00 am, Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Hope Reformed Church with Pastor Tim Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
