Lucille (Nuismer) Spangler

Lucille Spangler, age 88 of Grand Haven, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at her home. She was born on July 23, 1930 in Grand Haven to the late Herman and Reka (Alderink) Nuismer. Lucille met Raymond Spangler at the DornBos Fish House in 1945 they were married on December 30, 1950 in Grand Haven.

Lucille was a lifetime resident of Grand Haven, and enjoyed being home and raising their two children. She enjoyed going up north to the family cabin where they spent time fishing, snowmobiling, and boating. Lucille liked being outdoors where she would often be found, maintaining the yard and their garden. She especially loved being a grandmother to her four grandchildren, and cherished the time she was able to spend with them.

Lucille will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband of 68 years, Raymond; her daughter, Diane (Gary) Gray of Robinson Twp.; her son, Daniel (Lisa) Spangler of Robinson Twp.; grandchildren: Christopher and Cory Gray, and Jason and Shane Spangler; sister, Bernice (Russ) Marcus; sister-in-law, Isabel Nuismer; brother-in-law, Carl Frederick; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Isabel Jones, Betty Westof, Fran Frederick, Herm Nuismer, Genieve Topalski, and Jelmer Nuismer.

The Funeral Service for Lucille will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Bytwerk officiating. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
