Lee Shake, age 77, of Grand Haven passed away September 29, 2017. He was born March 8, 1940 to the late Albert and Thelma (Bush) Shake. Lee married Carol Prys on May 1, 1965 in Grand Haven. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Lee was employed as a machine operator for General Motors. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder and Bible Study Leader. Lee was past commander of AmVets Post #1994 and a member of the American Legion, Charles A. Conklin, Post #28 and R.E.A.C.T. He enjoyed reading and leather working. Lee is lovingly remembered by his wife of  52 years, Carol; daughter, Heather (Jonathan) Taylor of Rockford, MI; sons, Adam (Suzanna) Shake of Estes Park, Colorado & Eric Shake of Grand Haven. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Anthony Shake, Megan (Jason) Case, Connor Shake, Liberty Shake, Owen Taylor and Hudson Shake; sister, Mary Ann Sullivan of Montana and brothers, Douglas (Frankie) Shake of Colorado and Bruce (Sally) Shake of Illinois. The Funeral Service for Lee will be 11:00 am, Thursday, October 5, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Kurt Wenzelberger officiating. Full Military Rites will be performed by the American Legion, Charles A. Conklin, Post #28. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 4, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of North Ottawa Community or St. John’s Lutheran School.
