LaVerne D. Haak

LaVerne D. Haak, age 75 of Barryton, MI passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Heartwood Lodge. LaVerne was born January 31, 1941 to Issac and Berdena (Lokers) Haak in Zeeland. He graduated from Holland Christian High School. LaVerne was the owner/operator of Verns Auto Repair in Borculo. He was a volunteer firefighter at the Borculo Fire Department and loved spending time outdoors deer hunting. LaVerne is survived by his daughters, Debi (Brent) Loudin of Holland, Pam (Phil) Westerhof of Holland; sons, Bob (Mary) Haak of Hastings, Dan (Marie) Haak of Grand Haven; 16 grandchildren; step-children, Mark (Lisa) Dietrich of Caledonia; Michael Dietrich of WA, Theresa (Kevin Patterson) Simmons  of Wyoming; mother of his children, Barbara Jean Haak-Pendell of Holland; sisters, Helene Nieboer of Zeeland, Barb (Jason) Walters of Zeeland; brother, William (Maxine) Haak of Kalamazoo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Dawn Detrich-Haak. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 – 3 pm on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Without Walls Vineyard Church, 12330 James Street in Holland, MI.
