Mr. Keith A. Snyder, age 72 of Grand Haven, passed peacefully into eternity on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Heartwood Lodge Hospice House. He was born on June 4, 1946 to the late Loyal and Elsie (Swanson) Snyder in Grand Haven, and married Marlene Winters on May 11, 1974 in Grand Haven.
Keith was a life-long resident of Grand Haven, graduating from Grand Haven High School, Class of 1964. Keith served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967, during the Vietnam War. He was a member of First Reformed Church, where he served as a Deacon and a Youth Group Leader. Keith worked 18 years at Gardner Denver and then S.D. Warren Paper Mill (Sappi Paper Co.) in Muskegon for 26 years, retiring in 2009. He also loved to work on his Classic 1967 Corvette.
Keith’s memory will be cherished by his wife of 44 years, Marlene; son, Brian (SharaDee) Snyder of Sulfur Springs, TX; daughters, Amy Snyder and Lisa Snyder, both of Grand Haven; sister, Mary Lynn (Richard) Strand of Claremont, CA; brother-in-law, Larry Grant of Grand Haven; and several nieces and nephews. His greatest joy in life was spending his time with his three granddaughters, Zoeii Snyder, Madison Scott, and Bailey Scott. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Grant; and nephew, Todd Chittenden.
The Service to Celebrate Keith’s life and faith will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at First Reformed Church, with Pastor John Kenny and Pastor John Koedyker officiating. Friends and relatives may meet the family from 12 pm to 2 pm on Saturday at the Church, prior to the service. Full Military Rites to be performed by the American Legion, Charles A. Conklin Post # 28. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be given to Hospice of North Ottawa Community or Lakeshore Assisted Living Homes.
