Janice Marie VanDreumel, age 72, of Grand Haven, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Hackley Hospital. She was born on October 28, 1946 to the late Harold and Dorothy (VanNett) Kops in Muskegon, MI. Janice married Terry VanDreumel on January 8, 1966 in Grand Rapids, MI. He preceded her in death on May 13, 2016.
Janice attended Wyoming High School, and was a member of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Parish for many years. She enjoyed gardening and making crafts of all kinds. Janice was an excellent cook and was known for her famous Jello Cake and potato salad. She was also an avid sewer, making hundreds of baby quilts over the years. She is most remembered for being a very caring person who would always put others before herself. Janice will be lovingly remembered and missed by everyone who was blessed enough to know her.
Janice is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Darin) Houtstra and Andrea (John) Cain; grandchildren, Shelby Cain, Autumn Houtstra, Trevor Cain; and sisters, Gloria (Jerry) Wright and Nancy (Bill) Schultz. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Brian.
The Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at St. Patrick’s –St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 23rd from 6 - 8 p.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with a Rosary being recited at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Grand Rapids. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s - St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
