James T. Klouw, age 77 of Grand Haven, passed away on January 17, 2020 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born on November 7, 1942 in Chicago, IL to the late Bernard and Martha (Zajac) Klouw. Jim graduated from Grand Haven High School, Class of 1962. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1952 to 1965. Jim married Carole Barnes on June 11, 1966 in Spring Lake, MI.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s-St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish and worked for 40 years as a manufacturing manager, and then 10 years driving truck at AFAB Trucking. Jim enjoyed Michigan State Basketball and Football, and also loved to fish, golf, and spend time with his five grandchildren as often as he could.
Jim will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 53 years, Carole; two sons, Scott (Laura) Klouw of Gilbert, AZ and Ryan (Theresa) Klouw of Fruitport, MI; grandchildren, Zach, Mitch, Jordan, Lauren, and Cody; sister, Maggie Petrauskas; brother-in-law, Ron (Maryanne) Barnes; sisters-in-law, Judy Goding and Linda (Jack) DeCamp; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Jim will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the Grand Haven V.F.W. Post 2326 starting at 11:30 a.m. Full Military Honors to be performed by the V.F.W.
