Jacqueline L. Vorholzer, age 81 of Grand Haven, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at home. She was born on September 24, 1937 to Herschel and Moneth (Hess) Giant in Muskegon, MI. She married Henry Vorholzer on May 23, 1981 in Grand Haven and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2007. She was previously married to Carl Carlson, the father of their three daughters.
Jacqueline was a hostess and trainer for Red Lobster for 18 years, and a waitress at Russ’ Restaurant in Grand Haven for several years. She enjoyed baking, crafting, and knitting; every year, she made mittens for all of her kids and grandkids, and loved making wreaths with dried flowers.
Jacqueline will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Marsha (Jack) Frost of Grand Haven, Karlene Krause of Holland, Barbara Carlson (James Brye) of Spring Lake; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Giant of Hudson, MA, Julie Giant of St. Peters, MO, and Carol Giant of Fruitport; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Toby. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Marshall, Glen, and Carl Giant; son-in-law, Joel Krause; and first husband, Carl Carlson.
A Memorial Visitation for Jacqueline will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Harbor Humane Society.
