Grace Kruizenga

Grace Kruizenga, age 93 of Grand Haven passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Robbinswood Assisted Living. Grace was born July 10, 1923 to Zeger and Grace (Den Boggende) Heyblom in Muskegon. She married George Kruizenga on June 6, 1945 in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1999.  Grace worked at Home Bakery, Fett’s Grocery Store, Beacon Drive Inn, Lamplighter and drove a school bus for Grand Haven Christian school for many years. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and was part of the Mary-Martha Circle and the Grand Haven Christian School Auxilary. She volunteered at North Ottawa Community Community Hospital. Grace bowled for many years and enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles and knitting. She especially loved spending time with her family. Grace will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Nancy (Robert) Swartz of Holland, Linda (Angel) Mendez of Mt. Dora, FL, Ruth (Steve) Harrison of Cedar Springs; sons, Charles (Grace) Kruizenga of Grand Haven, David Alan (Laura Lamun) Kruizenga of Jackson, TN, Edward (Kathy) Kruizenga of Grand Haven; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Christine Kruizenga of Grand Haven; sister, Cora (Andy) Groenhout of Grand Haven; in-laws, Leona Heyblom, Alice Seaver, Delores Heyblom and Gordon Veurink; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, John “J.T.”, sisters, Joan Niven and Mary Peterson Veurink, brothers, John “Bud” and Gil Heyblom. The funeral service for Grace will be 11:00 am Monday, May 22, 2017 at First Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Tom Pettinga officiating. Interment will be in Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 8 pm Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
