Gerrit Lankamp Sr.

Gerrit Lankamp Sr., age 70 of Grand Haven, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at home. He was born on December 4, 1947 to Ted and Frances (Reyerse) Lankamp in East Grand Rapids. He married Tina Zimonick on July 23, 1971 in Grand Rapids, and they were married for 46 years.

Gerrit was the founder and owner/operator of Lankamp Concrete, for many years before the boys carried it into the next generation. Gerrit was a lifelong resident of Grand Haven, and he enjoyed going to the casino and playing slot machines, as well as trying his luck on scratch off tickets. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, duck hunting, traveling and spending some time in Florida.

Gerrit will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, Tina; daughter, Tanya (Karl) Chapel; sons, Gerrit (Tisha) Lankamp and Brian (Jessica) Lankamp; four grandchildren, Jager, Kenady, Joslyn, and Mia; sisters, Jean (Tom) Anderson of Howard City, Jeri (Doug) Christiansen of Ludington, Sara Lankamp (Jim Ekster) of Newaygo; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Cathy Dewys.

The Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.  Private family Graveside Services for Gerrit will be at Grand Haven Township Historic Cemetery with Pastor Doug Bytwerk officiating.
