Gail Ann Gruen, age 81 of Barrington, IL passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019 at a local care facility. She was born on May 12, 1938 in Chicago, IL to the late Maurice and Edna (Laue) Glynn.

Gail held a bachelor’s degree in education from Valparaiso University and went on to work as an educator, as well as a real estate agent and self-employed property manager. She also was a ballet instructor for several years in her own studio. Gail learned to play piano at an early age, and was a talented pianist. She was a history buff and a prolific writer who enjoyed gardening, swimming, and traveling to visit family. Gail was an excellent cook and baker, and was always trying new recipes to make for her friends and family.

Gail will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter, Crystal (Gregory) Todd of Spring Lake, MI; son, Harry (Anne) Gruen II of Coopersville, MI; 8 grandchildren; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Ann Lobberegt.

Graveside services were held at Eden Memorial Park in Schiller Park, Illinois.
