Frederick A. Millett, age 64, of Grand Haven passed away very unexpectedly at his home on July 28, 2018. He was born on August 4, 1953 in De Moines, Iowa to the late Frederick W. and Shirley (O’Brien) Millett. Fred married the former Susan Ditta April 29, 1977 in Grand Rapids. He was a graduate of electrical engineering at MSU and over the years he was employed at Gast Manufacturing, Pilkington (LOF), Donnelly, and most recently for the Whirlpool Corporation. Fred was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister. He also was an avid MSU football and basketball fan, loved to play golf, and was a handyman and inventor that held multiple patents.
Fred is survived by his loving family; wife of 41 years, Susan; daughter, Amanda (Ryan) Niehaus of St. Louis, MO; son, Frederick (Kelly) Millett of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters; Sherri Millett and Terri (Terry) De Vries both of Caladonia; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Spring Lake with Fr. David Gross officiating. Friends may meet the family from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions in lieu of flowers may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic School or a charity of donor's choice.
