Elaine Sylvia (Hammond) Schultz

Elaine S. Schultz age 91, of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 in the comfort of her own home. Elaine was born on December 19, 1926 to William and Esther (Gerth) Hammond in Grand Haven, and married Bernie Schultz on July 14, 1941 in Grand Haven.  He preceded her in death on June 4, 2009.

Elaine was a homemaker first and foremost, but was also employed at W.T. Grant, Precision Metal, and served as an Avon sales person for many years.  She enjoyed spending time in the garden, and loved music and dancing.

Elaine will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughters, Lynda Mann of Grand Haven, MI and Ruth (John) Oberg of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren, Eric Mann, Chrissy Sanchez, Melissa Kerr, Aaron Campbell, and Allison Swanson; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.  In addition to her husband of 58 years, Elaine was preceded in death by her four siblings, Richard, Ted, and Frank Hammond, Olive Holmes; and one great-granddaughter, Caroleen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Rev. John Koedyker officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
