Doris M. Ralya, age 91, of Grand Haven passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018. She was born October 23, 1926 to John and Nettie (Pellegrom) Engel, an area resident all of her life. Doris was employed by Gardner-Denver for over 17 years in the cost department office and also worked for Ardyne for 6 years. She was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church where she was involved in the Connections ministry. Doris was a volunteer at Pinewood Place and the American Red Cross Blood Bank. She enjoyed going for walks, reading and doing crossword puzzles, and she especially loved spending time with her grandkids.
Doris is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Diane (Michael) Voss of Grand Haven and Cheri (William) Meister of Muskegon; and sons, Bruce (Sue Sanders) Ralya of Muskegon and Dwight (Karen) Ralya of Grand Haven; grandchildren, Jenna (Justin Grewal) Voss, Erin (Matthew) Viening, Greg Ralya, Katelynn Meister, Amanda Meister-Lugo, Julie Jackson, Buddy Meister; and great-grandchildren, Elden Grewal and Eliza Viening; and brother, Stuart (Shirley) Engel of Grand Haven. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Harriet Van Oordt, Betty Jean Engel, Evelyn Hutchison and brother, Kenneth Engel.
A Funeral Service for Doris will be on Thursday, March 1, 2:30 p.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Pastor Laura de Jong officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Second Christian Reformed Memorial Fund.
