Donna Kay Boeve, age 85, of Grand Haven went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, February 7, 2018. She was born January 6, 1933 to Rudolph and Beulah (Holmes) Boettcher, an area resident all of her life.
Donna Kay was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven, where she served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. She was also active in Al Anon at the Tri-Cities Alano Club for many years, helping many families through that program.
Donna Kay began cooking at age 6 with her maternal grandmother, and over the years her passion for cooking grew, as she became a gourmet cook. She was known for her great sense of humor and her love of reading and bird watching. Donna Kay cherished the times spent camping and fishing with family and friends. Her family was her greatest joy in life.
Donna Kay leaves behind her children, Roberta Porter, Douglas (Monica) Boeve, Etta Boeve, Steven (Alvina) Boeve and Karen (Bill) Hitsman; 12 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Maxine Boeve and brother-in-law, Paul Rich. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Joyce Rich, Colleen Jones and the father of her children, Edwin Jay Boeve.
A Visitation for Donna Kay will be on Thursday, February 15, 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Grand Haven Eagles. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Ottawa Community or Tri-Cities Alano Club.
