Donald Robert Schippers

Donald Robert Schippers, age 74, of Robinson Township passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018. He was born October 5, 1943 in Grand Haven to Marinus Schippers and Louisa (Bryant) Schippers. He married Marilyn Laning on January 23, 1964 in Grand Haven. Don was a member of Hope Reformed Church, and enjoyed being in the great outdoors. His interests included hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodworking. His woodworking skills allowed him to build a cabin, which he enjoyed spending time at.Don is survived by his wife Marilyn; son, David (Michele) Schippers; daughter Pamela Huckabee; three grandchildren, Allison and Danielle Normand, Nicole (Ian) Bowyer; four sisters, Tillie Spangler, Liz (Don) Styx, Edna Schut, and Pat (Howard) Bekins; brother, Jim (Judy) Schippers. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nina Otto, Alice Polich, and Marie Plant; brother, Marines (Skip) Schippers.The memorial service for Donald will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Hope Reformed Church with Pastor Tim Taylor officiating.  Visitation will be Monday, March 26, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Hope Reformed Church or Harbor Hospice.
