Diana Jayne (Hunt) Wells

Diana Jayne (Hunt) Wells, age 78, of Paw Paw, Michigan passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 surrounded by her family. Diana was born May 1, 1939 to Frederick and Herma Jane (Fraker) Hunt in Wauseon, Ohio. She married Cloyd Dean Wells on December 27, 1959 in Delta, Ohio. At age 12 Diana begged her parents for a doll, Santa heard her pleas and that Christmas was gifted a doll. Diana spent many years making outfits for that doll and as a result, became quite handy and familiar with a sewing machine. Diana's son and two daughters grew up with many of Diana's masterpieces, fancy pants, bicentennial celebration dresses, prom dresses, formals and a wedding dress just to name a few. Diana was also a farmer's granddaughter and a lover of all of God's creatures.  While her home was filled with cats and dogs, a horse, a pony, goats, ducks and  chickens roamed the outdoors of their property. Her nurturing abilities made it possible for her family to experience nature up close as they raised baby squirrels and a grackle bird to name a few. Diana loved gardening and had a fabulous garden of flowers and vegetables. She was a great cook of comfort foods, her specialties included Grandma Fraker's potato soup, goulash, turkey dinner and her beloved pot roast. Diana loved her husband and family and was a patient loving mother and devoted wife. She enjoyed her grandchildren, as most grandmothers do, sharing with them many family traditions. Diana also had many friends who are dear to her heart, the Sexy Six, the Book Club, her Church Prayer Group and many others. Those who knew Diana would tell you she always had a nice thing to say and a knack for turning any situation into a positive. She believed in making things happen and followed her dreams. Diana will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dean; son, Wesley (Catherine) Wells of Fairview Heights, IL; daughters, Cynthia (Clay) Giuffria of Gulfport, MS, Jennifer (Jay) Kure of Spring Lake, MI; grandchildren, Trisha Wells-Morski, James Wells, Rachel and Alexander Kure; great granddaughters, Aurora and Belle; sister, Sandra  (David) Mason; aunt, Joan Fraker-Kuntz both of Delta, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents. The funeral and interment for Diana will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, June 22, 2017 with Rod Kuntz, her cousin, officiating at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta, Ohio.
