Dean Joseph Wolfe

Dean Joseph Wolfe, age 82, of Grand Haven passed away Friday, July 27, 2018.  He was born March 13, 1936 in Grand Rapids to the late Max and Arline (Dunder) Wolfe.  Dean married the former Kay Allen on March 23, 1957 in Grand Rapids.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force 305th Bomb Wing from Oct of 1958 thru June of 1962.  Dean was employed as an engineer at Dake Corp for over 35 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Chevy Classics Car Club as he loved to restore cars including his 1955 and 1957 Chevrolets.  He also had a love for World War II airplanes including the P-51 Mustang, B-17 Bombers and the B-58 Hustler along with a collection of trains (HO gauge and Lionel trains).  In his spare time he was an official for the Michigan High School Athletic Association for over 53 years; officiating many football and basketball games. Dean was past president of the Grand Haven Jaycees from 1968-1969, a little league coach for several years, a member of the YMCA and loved to watch the Detroit Redwings and Tigers. 

He will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Kay; three sons, Douglas (Alyce); Dale (Dana); and Daniel (Diana) Wolfe; 10 grandchildren; Natalie, Nolan, Brittany, Justin (Angelina), Evan, Vanessa, Alexandra (Jake), Matthew, Casey and Andy; and three great-grandchildren; Elianna, Luca and Enzo.  Dean was preceded in death by his grandson, Kyle. 

Friends may meet the family from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on August 1, 2018 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be given to Spectrum Hospice or a charity of donor’s choice.
