Carol Louise (Lehmann) Appel

Carol Louise Appel, age 75, of Robinson Township, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was born on September 11, 1942 in Grand Haven to Fredrick and Dorothy (Tripp) Lehmann. Carol married Peter Appel on December 4, 1992 in Jamaica.

She loved being a grandma, and spending time with her family always came before anything else. Carol’s hobbies included reading, cooking, and baking, and she was also very interested in genealogy.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband of 25 years, Peter; sons, Rick (April) Rodgers and Wayne (Lisa) Rodgers of Grand Haven; step-daughters, Brenda (David) Dotson and Rosalie (Robin) Smith of Grand Haven; step-sons, Fred Appel of Walkerville, and Richard Appel of Coopersville; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Lois (Jim) Ferguson of Grand Haven; brother, Bob Lehmann of Standale; and sister-in-law, Kathy (David) Harden of Grand Haven. Carol was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Yahne.

The Memorial Service for Carol will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Robinson Grace Church, with Pastor Bill Russell officiating. The Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Robinson Township Cemetery.
