Ann Ruth (Woodwyk) Smallegan

Ann Ruth Smallegan, age 86 of Ferrysburg, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at a local care facility. She was born on May 7, 1933 in Holland, MI to the late Richard and Stena (Hop) Woodwyk. Ann married Jay Smallegan on January 30, 1953 and he preceded her in death in April of 2002.

Ann was a life-time resident of the Tri-Cities area and attended Holland High School. She was employed as a custodian at Ferrysburg Community Church, where she attended church services for many years. Ann enjoyed camping, knitting, sewing, and playing cards. She loved traveling and being outdoors, and took daily rides around the beach to see the lake.

Ann will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family, Dawn (Bob) Molenkamp of Grand Haven, Sandi (Al) Westhof of Ferrysburg, Cheryl (Mike) Ulrich of Pennsylvania, Rick (Anita) Smallegan of Allendale; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, and son-in-law, Dan Dicker of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay; daughter, Debbie Dicker; brother, Alvern Woodwyk; and grandson, Rodney Street.

The Funeral Service for Ann will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Ferrysburg Community Church with Pastor Nate Visker officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Spring Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Church or the Michigan Parkinson Foundation.
