Alice (Nichols) Roberts

Mrs. Alice Roberts, age 86, of Grand Haven, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019 at her home. She was born on February 1, 1933 in Ganges, MI to the late Earl and Georgia Kay (Ellis) Nichols. She married Thomas J. Roberts on July 12, 1952 in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on January 31, 2008 after 55 years of marriage.

Alice was a life-long resident of Grand Haven, and attended First Reformed Church for many years. Before retirement, Alice was employed as a Cook for Riverside Nursing Center for several years. She was an excellent cook, and loved to bake for her family. Alice loved watching baseball and rooting for her favorite team, the Detroit Tigers. Most of all, Alice was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and her family meant the world to her. She will be forever remembered by her family, and all who were blessed to know her.

Alice is survived by her 4 daughters; Vicki Stone of Spring Lake, Georgia (Howard) Brown of Bitely, Janna Kerr of Norton Shores, and Patti Roberts of Muskegon; 3 sons; Thomas (Laurie) Roberts of Nunica, Tim Roberts of Grand Haven, and Scott Roberts (Lorene Searfoss) of Grand Haven; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ellen Hitsman and Maryann (Jim) Hancock. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; daughter, Cindy Lockard; and great-grandson, Timmy Lockard.

The Memorial Service for Alice will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at First Reformed Church with Pastor John Kenny officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 12 - 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at Robinson Township Cemetery. 

Memorial Contributions may be given to Klaassen Family Funeral Home (In Memory of Alice Roberts) to help the family with expenses.
